

Michael J. Hanes, MAT, ATR-BC, LPAT, LPC is a Registered Art Therapist - Board Certified, Licensed Professional Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor. He is a graduate faculty member at the University of Oklahoma and undergraduate faculty member at Oklahoma State University - OKC where he teaches a variety of courses in art psychotherapy and group counseling. He is a clinical consultant to the Oklahoma Department of Correction and the Oklahoma County Jail. Michael is a review coordinator at the Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality. He is a practicing artist specializing in large abstract acrylic painting.
Mr. Hanes is a respected and established author, having been published numerous times in such publications as American Journal of Art Therapy, Art Therapy: Journal of the American Art Therapy Association, and The Arts in Psychotherapy: An International Journal. In addition, he is the author of Roads to the Unconscious: A Manual For Understanding Road Drawings. Mr. Hanes is a popular presenter at conferences and seminars throughout the United States. His creative and discerning style complements his considerable teaching, presenting and clinical skills.
